NHS South West - Professional and Generic Skills Programme

TLHP, in collaboration with Bristol North Academy, is acting as a provider for the Professional and Generic Skills Programme (PGSP) being run by the Severn Institute (local deanery). The workshops are open to junior doctors (StRs and SpRs) employed in the area covered by the Severn Institute. Booking and access to course materials is available through the regional NHS Managed Learning Environment (MLE), to which all eligible trainees and staff have been given access. The modules in which TLHP are involved are detailed in the table below but you should access the MLE or Severn Institute for further information and make bookings on modules via the MLE.

The programme is coordinated by the Severn Deanery and delivered locally via the Academies (a network of Learning Centres based on major healthcare sites). There may be variation in style and method of delivery across Academies but the programme will be evaluated annually to ensure quality and overall consistency.

Advance booking/cancellation of at least 1 week required

Places can be booked on the local Managed Learning Environment (MLE), where full details of the date, time and venue for each module can also be found at: http://nhssw.e2train.com/PG/

Times: 9am – 4:30pm unless otherwise advised

Cost: The workshops are funded centrally and therefore free at the point of delivery to target groups employed within the Severn Institute area, though trainees who sign up for modules but fail to attend will either be prevented from booking their next module or a charge may be levied against the individual or their department.
