The TLHP Programme is accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Accreditation provides external confirmation that our course is aligned with the UK Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning in Higher Education (UK PSF) and enables participants to engage with the standards at the appropriate descriptor. It enables awards to be more easily transferable between organisations and facilitates those who successfully complete the relevant stage of the course to apply for professional recognition by the HE Academy.
Successful completion of the PG Certificate (60 credits by passing all modules) means you are entitled to apply to become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
In both cases there is a short form on the HEA Web site that MUST be completed WITHIN TWO YEARS of completing the TLHP PG Certificate.
The process is: after hearing from us that you have successfully completed one of the two routes above, within two years fill in the participants form for "Academy accredited professional development provision" available from the Higher Education Academy (HEA) Web site.
These additional awards provide national recognition of commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning in higher education and are an indicator of professional identity. They are increasingly recognised, portable assets with UK-wide relevance. There is no recognition fee if applying under this "Academy accredited professional development provision" route and currently no annual membership fees.
The HEA develop and deliver the subject-specific services including: workshops and seminars, teaching development grants, journals, support and guidance for staff new to teaching, resources and networking opportunities. Those relating to Health Sciences relate to the following discipline groups:
