To help you plan your route through the programme we provide here the Timetable of units for the Diploma.
The grounding gained in the PG Certificate is built on with more specialised units, including on on educational research methods. So as a qualification the PG Dip is very suitable for those aiming to go on to further study or obtain posts involving educational management, educational leadership, educational research and a range of senior positions.
Our intention is to offer most of the Diploma units as single stand alone or one off courses. We are developing a process to allow people not on the programme to apply to attend these. They will have the same educational experience as someone on the programme doing the unit but would not be required to complete the assignment and would not be awarded the linked credit points.
The courses are very well received. Evaluation scores over the past ten years have averaged 8.2/10 with scores on opportunities for participation averaging 9.1. Quotes from students include the following:
"Excellent and thoughtful presentations by faculty"
"...right mix of theory and practice".
"Could see how simulation could be used in daily practice and very useful learning out to set up simulation"
"... excellent facilitator"
"The content was spot on"
"Enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutor"
"Good discussion regarding various roles of leadership"
"High faculty/student ratio"
"Very interactive"
We welcome applications from individuals who have obtained a PG Cert in medical education (or equivalent) elsewhere who could therefore import up to 60 credits into our programme (subject to discretion of the TLHP and Faculty offices). They could then continue with the TLHP Programme to obtain our PG Diploma (import a maximum of 40 credits) or MSc (import a maximum of 60 credits) (1).
