MRes Health Sciences Research

This programme provides prospective health scientists with a firm foundation in research methodology. It is ideal for clinical or bioscience graduates, or for medical, veterinary and dental students taking advantage of an intercalating year.

At the core of the programme is an eight-month research project in a field that interests you.

You will be based within one of the University of Bristol's internationally recognised health science research groups with opportunities to immerse yourself in both laboratory and clinical-based environments.

Taught units provide intensive training in research methodology and the communication of scientific research giving you the key skills for a successful research career.

Did you know?

  • Students write up their research project in a 10,000-word thesis and present it in a viva (oral exam) and research symposium.
  • You can opt to study part time to fit around your existing work and family commitments.
