Lesley-Jane Rogers has been a visiting teacher of singing at Bristol University since October 2000.  Her alumnae include two staff members of the BBC Singers, various ad hoc members of the BBC Singers and Cathedral lay clerks, as well as Arts administrators and Music teachers.  Lesley-Jane believes in a rounded singing education encompassing not only vocal technique and song coaching, but also awareness of different musical styles, platform deportment, language skills, and general musical understanding.

As a soloist, Lesley-Jane Rogers is heralded as one of the most versatile sopranos of today, and is renowned for her captivating and evocative performances. An established concert soloist, she specialises in oratorio, “vocal concertos”, solo cantatas, recitals and contemporary music, and has a vast repertoire of several hundred works. She studied singing and piano at the Royal Academy of Music where she won several prizes, and in 2003 was made an ‘Associate’ in recognition of her eminence in the profession.

An engaging performer, Lesley-Jane has worked with many leading conductors and orchestras, and her affinity with the Strauss Four Last Songs, Ravel Shéhérazade, Canteloube’s Songs of the Auvergne, Mozart’s Exsultate jubilate and Bach’s Jauchzett Gott makes her a popular choice for this task. A keen exponent of contemporary music, Lesley-Jane has given more than 70 premières in the last few years, and is delighted to be the dedicatee of various songs and song cycles.  Her discography numbers several new-music releases for the specialist label Metier, various English composer CDs for the for the Campion/Cameo label, as well as discs for Hyperion, Hungaroton, Toccata Classics, Prima Facie, Dutton, Penchant, Collins Classics and ASV.
