ThermoElectron MAT95 XP-Trap

The ThermoElectron MAT95 XP Trap is a high resolution, double focussing hybrid mass spectrometer. For GC/MS applications it is equipped with a GC (Agilent 6890 with CTC GC Pal autosampler) coupled to the MS via a heated transfer line and supports both EI and CI (+/-) modes of ionisation. Alternatively an HPLC (ThermoElectron Surveyor) may be interfaced to the MS via atmospheric pressure interface (API) to which either an electrospray ionisation (ESI) or atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation (APCI) source may be coupled. In addition a direct insertion probe (DIP) is available. The combination of the MAT95 XP with a Finnigan LCQ MSn ion trap extends the power of both instruments to enable the analysis of highly resolved ions using MS/MS and MSn - with high sensitivity, high collision efficiency and excellent mass resolution of the product ions.
