UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL
Site makes top three

A web site developed by the Institute for Learning and Research Technology (ILRT) at Bristol University has been chosen by Estelle Morris, Secretary of State for Education and Skills, as one of her three favourite educational web sites.

The site, called the RDN Virtual Training Suite, is a set of online tutorials to help students, lecturers and researchers improve their Internet information skills.

Commenting on the Suite in the 'My Favourites' feature on the National Grid for Learning portal, Ms Morris said: "This site provides 40 subject-specific 'teach yourself' tutorials on how to find good-quality information on the Internet.

"The Internet Politician and Internet for Education tutorials introduced me to an array of useful resources."

Emma Place, Project Manager at ILRT, said: "It's good to know our work has found favour at the highest levels of government, and that the RDN Virtual Training Suite is proving useful to people."

The site can be found at www.vts.rdn.ac.uk
