Paul Boateng to give talk

The Rt Hon Paul Boateng, MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury and a Bristol graduate, will be speaking about faith and globalisation.

The Rt Hon Paul Boateng, MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury and a Bristol graduate, will be speaking about faith and globalisation at Bristol University later this week.

His talk, Faith and globalisation: 21st century challenges, is the 11th annual Anne Spencer Memorial Lecture given in memory of a former member of staff of the University who died, Anne Spencer, and sponsored by her family.

This annual event, seeks to promote new thinking in theology and engage with contemporary issues.

Revd Dr Angus Stuart, Senior Anglican Chaplain at Bristol University, said: "This promises to be an interesting talk with members of the public having the opportunity to discuss their religion in today's society."

Organised by the University Chaplaincy, the talk will take place this Thursday, February 10, at St Paul's Church (Anglican Chaplaincy), St Paul's Road, Clifton, Bristol, at 8pm.

The talk, open to all, will be followed by a discussion and refreshments.
