Dr Eric Herring, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics, has been appointed Specialist Adviser on Economic Sanctions to the House of Lords Select Committee on Economic Affairs.

Dr Eric Herring, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics, has been appointed Specialist Adviser on Economic Sanctions to the House of Lords Select Committee on Economic Affairs. The prestigious appointment runs from July to December 2006 and includes duties such as providing background briefings for committee members, preparing questions for witnesses, and being principal author of the committee’s report, which will be debated in the chambers of the House of Lords and House of Commons. The report will be addressed to the UK government with the aim of improving policy on economic sanctions.
