Amoroso Award: a big deal for small animal studies
1 May 2007
Professor Geoff Pearson of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Science has received the 2007 Amoroso Award from the British Small Animal Veterinary Association.
Professor Pearson graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1971, took his PhD at Queen’s University, Belfast, and joined the University in 1984.
The award is presented annually by Hill’s Pet Nutrition Limited for outstanding contributions to small animal studies by a non-clinical member of university staff. The Amoroso Award recognises Professor Pearson’s contribution to the discovery of feline spongiform encephalopathy, extensive work with E. coli and his enthusiastic teaching of veterinary pathology. It also recognises the help given by colleagues, in particular staff in Comparative Pathology, over the years.
