World wakes up to Clean Gum

4 January 2008

A recent article in The New York Times features Professor Terence Cosgrove and Clean Gum, the easy-to-remove chewing gum developed through the University’s spin-out company, Revolymer.

The piece appeared in the business section of the newspaper on 26 December and describes how Professor Cosgrove came up with the initial idea – on a trip to some academic conferences in the United States, where he noticed wads of hardened chewing gum on the sidewalks – and highlights a sea change in UK universities’ commercialisation of their research results.

The full article can be read online on The New York Times' website.

More details on the new Clean Gum can be found on the University’s website at www.bris.ac.uk/news/2007/5608.html.
