March digital imaging workshops

A summary of March workshops for staff run by the University’s Technical Advisory Service for Images.

TASI provides advice and training on digital images, from using a digital SLR camera and Photoshop to building an image collection. As a service funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee, TASI supports staff within further and higher education institutions and provides a free helpdesk service (info@tasi.ac.uk). 

TASI also runs regular workshops and courses. The following workshops are coming up in March:

Colour Management
To introduce colour management theory and 'good practice', ensuring consistent and accurate colour between applications, platforms, and devices. ICC profiles will be made and used within a colour-managed workflow.

Protecting Your Images: Using Technology to Manage Rights in Digital Images
To develop a practical and technical understanding of how the rights in images can be managed and protected within a digital environment.
6 March 2008

Rights and Responsibilities: Copyright and Digital Images
To provide an introduction to the ways in which copyright and other legal issues have an impact on digital images and develop practical approaches to clearing and managing those rights.
14 March 2008

Image Optimisation: Correcting and Preparing Images
To introduce the skills required for correcting digital images and preparing them for future use. This workshop will show suitable techniques and warn against those that can degrade image quality.
