A Fairtrade sesame oil producer from Nicaragua is to visit the University as part of national Fairtrade Fortnight (23 February – 8 March).

Claudia Iris Sorto López is a member of the Juan Francisco Paz Silva cooperative, which supplies sesame oil, kidney beans and other produce to businesses including the Body Shop. She will visit the Hawthorns on 3 March from 1-2pm for an event organised jointly by the Hawthorns, Bristol Fairtrade Network and the University's Green Impact Awards. Free food and drink samples will be available, and 50 cups of Fairtrade coffee will be given away for free.

The Students’ Union Fairtrade Society is holding a number of events during Fairtrade Fortnight. For more information, see their Facebook page or contact Amelia Parsons.
