Professor Gregg is an expert on welfare reform, labour markets, poverty, and education and child development. He was an economic adviser to Gordon Brown when he was at the Treasury and, in December 2008, he produced a report on welfare benefit reform, Realising Potential, for the Department of Work and Pensions. He is a member of the Centre for Economic Performance, LSE and a member of the London Child Poverty Commission.
