The University’s Equality and Diversity Team has launched a new website for staff, bringing together resources and information on balancing work and family.

The University recognises that the complexities of modern life make competing demands on its employees. Parenthood may be the most common example, but a growing number of people have other caring responsibilities of various kinds. As part of the Positive Work Environment programme, the Equality and Diversity Team has assembled a range of resources and services, some pre-existing but others brand-new, to help members of staff with some of the challenges of balancing work and family.

The new website is designed to serve as a central information point for work and family issues. Resources and programmes you can find there include advice on flexible working; details of the Work and Family Buddy Scheme, the Carers Support Group and similar initiatives; information for managers; and details of events for parents and carers.
