The stage is set for three extra performances of 'Romeo and Juliet' in Bristol Cathedral

13 May 2010

Three performances of 'Romeo and Juliet', supported by Bristol University Business Angels (BUBA) and Research and Enterprise Development (RED), will take place in Bristol Cathedral this Friday and Saturday, 14 and 15 May.

PlayFull Theatre Company’s promenade interpretation of Shakespeare’s tragically romantic play brings it down from the stage and into the cathedral’s crypts and cloisters. Fully immersed in the action as the play unfolds, the audience will be led through the entire cathedral. Theatre-goers should prepare to be immersed in lyrical language, authentic period costumes, exuberant acting and stirring music, embraced by a poignant medieval atmosphere. The cast includes Bristol University students.

Due to overwhelming demand after an extremely successful initial run, Emily Smith’s production returns for three performances only:

  • Friday 14 May at 2 pm and 7 pm
  • Saturday 15 May at 7 pm

The venue is Bristol Cathedral, College Green, Bristol (not wheelchair accessible), price £10.

Tickets can be booked online.

BUBA is a student-run company whose purpose is to encourage and support entrepreneurship at the University of Bristol. RED works with University colleagues, students and external partners in both industry and the community to support world-class research and enterprise.
