1 July 2010
PhD student, Jo Edgar and research assistant, Dr Becky Hothersall, in the Department of Clinical Veterinary Science, have been awarded prestigious Fellowships by the Parliamentary Office of Science and the British Science Association .
Jo will spend three months in the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) at the Houses of Parliament, working on a science-based project. She will gain experience in science writing and an insight into how Parliament functions.
Becky, who researches animal pain and behaviour, will spend three to eight weeks at BBC Countryfile. The aim is to equip scientists with the skills to communicate their research to the public and to colleagues.
