Media coverage for research into how pain could be a good thing for heart attack patients

A new study that found feeling the pain of a heart attack could actually help the heart minimise damage by Professor Paolo Madeddu and colleagues in the School of Clinical Sciences and Bristol Heart Institute, was covered by The Observer and the Telegraph.

A new study has showed that during a heart attack pain signals from cardiac nerves may help attract stem cells to the site of the blockage to repair some of the damage, was covered by The Observer, The Telegraph, BBC Radio 4's Inside Heath programme and the Daily Mail.

The research, carried out by Professor Paolo Madeddu in the School of Clinical Sciences and Bristol Heart Institute and colleagues, was published in in the American Heart Association journal Circulation.
