Historian on BBC Radio 4's The Invention of Spain

Dr Matthew Brown of the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies will be interviewed on BBC Radio 4's The Invention of Spain this Sunday.

Dr Matthew Brown of the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies will be interviewed on The Invention of Spain, a history of Spain presented by Misha Glenny, on BBC Radio 4 this Sunday at 1.30pm.

Dr Brown blogs about Latin American independence at The Bolivarian Times.  His most recent book is a collective biography of the men who fought at the Battle of El Santuario, 17 October 1829: The Struggle for Power in Post-Independence Colombia and Venezuela(2012).

He recently sent an open letter to Hugo Swire MP, Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (with responsibility for Latin America) with suggestions for how to commemorate Britain's involvement in the independence of the Bolivarian republics.
