Professor Anthony Hollander, Head of the School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, appeared as a witness for the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee enquiry into Regenerative Medicine on Tuesday (13 November).

Anthony Hollander, Arthritis Research UK Professor of Rheumatology and Tissue Engineering and Head of the School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, appeared as a witness for the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee enquiry into Regenerative Medicine on Tuesday (13 November). The enquiry is seeking to ensure that the UK is benefiting commercially from advances in regenerative medicine.

Professor Hollander’s pioneering work includes the development of a method of ‘growing’ cartilage cells from stem cells, which helped to make possible the first successful transplant of a tissue-engineered trachea, utilising the patient’s own stem cells.

The hour-long House of Lords session is available to watch online.
