Professor Squires was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2000 and became Professor of Political Theory in 2005.  She was made Dean of Social Sciences and Law in 2009.  She is currently Director of the ESRC South West Doctoral Training Centre and is a member of the ESRC Training and Skills Committee and Peer Review College.

Professor Squires said: "It is an honour to have been selected for the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor at Bristol. I look forward to working with colleagues and students to ensure that we continue to offer an educational experience that is not only inclusive and supportive but also research-informed and exciting, equipping students to excel in their future chosen careers.”
