A rare glimpse into the city’s horticultural history is being offered through a series of guided tours at two of Bristol’s most beautiful and historic gardens. The University of Bristol is inviting people to delve into the rich history of two hidden gems - Goldney Garden and Royal Fort Garden – through tours taking place between May and September.

The use of words with emotional content in books has steadily decreased throughout the last century, according to new research from the Universities of Bristol, Sheffield, and Durham. The study, published today in PLOS ONE also found a divergence between American and British English, with the former being more 'emotional' than the latter.

One of Bristol’s most historic buildings is to be transformed into a business and innovation hub thanks to an agreement between the University of Bristol and the city council. A total of £1.5 million is being invested to breathe new life into the Engine Shed, which was built by Brunel and previously housed the Empire and Commonwealth Museum at the entrance to Bristol Temple Meads station.
