The Public Art Sub-committee was set up in autumn 2009 to continue the work of the Centenary Celebrations Art Sub Group.
Its role is to advise and co-ordinate all aspects of public art within the University in line with its Public Art Strategy. It provides advice and guidance on the planning, commission and development of works of art within the University precinct.
Beyond this it encourages the creation of public art projects and the public’s engagement with them.
Members are drawn from within the University, but others are invited to attend meetings when their expert knowledge is sought. The Committee meets twice a year, in October and April, and additionally when required.
