All eligible students need to confirm their attendance, by registering online before the deadline, even though your results may not yet be known.
If your degree is awarded in time for you to graduate at the July Degree Congregation and you have not registered to attend, your degree will automatically be conferred (formally awarded at a ceremony) in absentia (in your absence). Attendance at a later degree congregation cannot then be permitted.
In order to graduate at the July Degree Congregation, your examiners report and recommendation has to be considered at an examinations board. Details of the dates of these examinations boards and their respective deadlines for receipt of examiners reports are available for research degrees, or by contacting your Faculty Office (for taught degrees).
Your degree must be confirmed at an examinations board.
Please note that if your degree is awarded at the examinations board, subject to the correction of minor errors, you are still eligible to graduate at the July Degree Congregation. However, your degree certificate will only be issued when the Examinations Office has received written confirmation that the corrections have been made.
Your degree results will be posted on Student Info, or Past Student Info (for former students). You will also be sent an email confirming that your results are available and a letter will be sent to your registered home address confirming your degree. The date that the results are available will be posted in due course.
If your degree is not awarded in time to graduate at the July Degree Congregation, you will be sent information about the January 2014 ceremonies.
