GL Brown Prize Lecture by Professor Dame Pamela J Shaw

The University of Bristol has been chosen as one of the few Universities to host the GL Brown Prize Lecture this year.
The Lecture is a prestigious annual lecture in his memory, he was an English Physiologist and Fellow of the Royal Society. The lecture is aimed at a non-specialist audience and the recipient of this prize tours select Universities to deliver it.
The winner of this year’s prize is Professor Dame Pamela J Shaw, Professor of Neurology at the University of Sheffield. Professor Shaw is renowned for her pioneering work on the mechanisms that underlie susceptibility to motor neurone disease and developing treatments for this debilitating disease. Professor Shaw delivered the GL Brown Lecture on 1st April in Wills Memorial Building.
The title of the lecture is ‘Tackling the pathophysiology of motor neuron disease (MND): a translational neuroscience approach’.
