Evidence for CP violation in D decays at LHCb: the first sign of New Physics at the LHC?
Room 3.34
Abstract: Using 0.6/fb of data collected in 2011, the LHCb collaboration has made a measurement of Delta A_{CP}, equal to the difference between CP asymmetries of D0 decays to the final states K+ K- and pi+ pi-. Evidence for a non-zero value of Delta A_{CP} is found at a level of 3.5 sigma. I will describe the analysis procedure and discuss possible interpretations of the result, including whether it hints at the presence of New Physics.
Particle Physics seminars take place during term time on most Wednesdays, 4 pm, in room 3.34 of the H H Wills Physics Laboratory.
