This morning, the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee held an evidence session as part of their inquiry into the Role of batteries and fuel cells in achieving Net Zero. The Committee is investigating the role of battery and fuel cell technologies in achieving the UK’s ambition to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The work will consider the use of these technologies in transport, and also in other sectors such as power grids, agricultural machinery and heat production.

Professor Philip Taylor, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise and Director of the EPSRC Supergen Energy Networks Hub gave evidence to the committee alongside Professor David Greenwood, Professor of Advanced Propulsion Systems, University of Warwick and Professor Paul Dodds, Professor of Energy Systems, University College London.
