  • Eurodoc - the council for postgraduate students and junior researchers in Europe, founded by the postgraduate student associations and unions of European institutions. Useful for international students and those who wish to work abroad after a PhD in the UK
  • HEFCE - the Higher Education Funding Council for England, which distributes public money for teaching and research to universities and colleges
  • National Postgraduate Committee (NPC) - a representative organisation for taught and research postgraduates, run by postgraduates
  • National Union of Students (NUS)
  • Research Councils UK (RCUK) - funding agencies for academic research and training. There are seven research councils in the UK.
  • UK Council for Graduate Education - champions the interests of graduate education, via conferences, workshops, seminars, publications and working groups
