We know how tight your deadlines can be and how important your dissertations and poster presentations are. Print Services is the University’s in-house print shop and we offer reliable, high quality, fast turnaround documents and binding at student rates
Dissertation and thesis printing
We can print your dissertation in black and white or full colour, onto various paper weights. Please allow 24 hours for printing and binding. Please note that documents must be supplied to Print Services in PDF format.
Thesis binding
- Wire binding
Holes punched down the spine and a black metal wire inserted. Acetates can be added if required. Up to 250 sheets. - Comb binding
Holes punched down the spine and a black plastic spiral comb inserted. Acetates can be added if required. Up to 400 sheets. - Soft binding
Heat sealed adhesive strip with acetate front and back with a University red spine, pages inserted and glued in. Up to 300 sheets. Ideal for thesis and dissertations. - Hardback binding
University specification in black buckram. Gold foil block printed text on front cover and on spine. Spine width should not exceed 50mm. Turnaround 4 -5 working days though extra time is always appreciated. Ideal for thesis and dissertations. Please complete this hard binding request form (Word doc, 54 KB) giving your initials and surname (as it will appear on the spine), degree qualification and year of submission.
Poster printing
For your large format presentations, we can print standard size posters A2, A1, A0 and bespoke sizes up to 900mm wide. We have a choice of matt or gloss papers, with the option to have your poster laminated for extra protection. We can also print your presentations on to canvas material which can be folded and packed in with your luggage if travelling to a conference. Our preferred file types are PDF and PowerPoint.

We can help with all types of promotional materials for your student related events. Feel free to call in and visit or ring us for advice and competitive prices.
Delivery
Our delivery times are as follows: Morning Deliveries are from 9am - 12pm and Afternoon Deliveries are from 2pm - 4pm.
We deliver free of charge to Senate House or any address within the local University of Bristol precinct.
