The School of Oral and Dental Sciences again performed highly in the Government's 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). The results rank Bristol as one of the top five centres of internationally acclaimed dental research in the UK, with 20% of research activity world-leading (4*) and 95% of research of international importance. The School interfaces laboratory-based and clinically-applied research and fosters a high level of collaboration between staff and students. The research programme is funded by external grants from charities, research councils and industry.
We have three research groupings:
Each group comprises clinical and basic scientists to promote interdisciplinary and translational research.
An upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. Holders of non-UK degrees or other qualifications can obtain advice from the Faculty Office.
