Programme overview

This MSc programme will give you a solid grounding in an area at the forefront of mathematics from internationally renowned researchers. Specialised lectures cover both the basics as well as latest developments in the chosen areas, and the research project allows you to get your own hands-on experience by performing your own research.

Successful students are well placed to obtain jobs with a strong quantitative, reasoning or problem solving requirement, or to continue in postgraduate research.

Programme structure

Units

There is a huge variety of possible combinations of units and themes depending on your background and interests. It is also possible to exchange some of the taught units with a literature review related to the research theme. A list of units is available from our Education Support Unit website.

An academic mentor will advise you on these units, then meet regularly with you individually and/or in small groups throughout the taught component. You are also invited to participate in the wider academic life of the School including research seminars.
