Open days, tours and visits

A great way to find out what it’s really like to study and live in Bristol, is to come and visit us on one of our open days or walking tours, which run throughout the year.

Open days

Open days offer you the best opportunity to get a feel for the city and University. On the day you’ll get the chance to:

  • Tour the facilities
  • Visit individual departments and meet academic staff
  • Talk to current students about their experiences
  • Visit student accommodation
  • Get a feel for the city and the area
  • Get advice on funding and making your application.

We are running three open days in 2013, but these are likely to be booked up quickly. You can find details of dates, how to book and what you can expect on the day from the open days page.

Undergraduate tours

If you’re not able to visit on one of our Open days, you could come along instead to one of our student-led walking tours. These are organised throughout the year and offer you an opportunity to look around the main campus, but you won’t get the chance to visit the academic departments and see their facilities.

Demand for these tours is also high and we are only able to offer places to prospective students and up to two guests. The tour does include some steps and hills and lasts up to two hours, so if you or anyone in your party has a disability or restricted mobility, please let us know in advance.

How to book

You’ll need to book in advance for the tours from the range of dates below:

Once we’ve received your booking, we’ll confirm details of where to go and how to find us by email. If your chosen dates are fully booked, keep checking this page as places do often become available due to cancellations.

Tours will be running throughout the summer, Monday to Friday at 11 am and 2 pm from Monday 8 July until Friday 6 September 2013, excluding Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 August for the bank holiday and University closure day. Booking for these tours will be available here from 8 May 2013.

UCAS conventions are held across the UK between March and July, and you’ll find details of the conventions we’re attending below.
