As scientists, we're sometimes viewed as another species. I'm on a bit of a mission to break down that stereotype by showing that I'm a human being.

About us

What we do

We want as many people as possible to be involved with our University's activities by attending public events and courses, getting involved with research and teaching, and using our facilities. This helps to improve the impact of our research and teaching, and ensures that people locally, nationally and internationally get the most from our University.

Public engagement at the University of Bristol

Public Engagement booklet cover

Public engagement describes the many ways in which staff interact with the public, from developing research ideas collaboratively to sharing the outcomes with as many different people as possible.

To get a flavour of the diversity of public engagement work at the University, visit the Public Engagement Stories website or download our brochure - Public Engagement at the University of Bristol, (PDF 863 KB).

The NCCPE has more information about the value of public engagement and is developing a framework with regards to higher education.
