Cleaning
A cleaning service is provided in academic and administrative buildings on the main Precinct, Victoria Rooms, Student Union as well as Student Houses (not halls of residence)
The services provided include:
- Specified general cleaning
- Hand dryer and roller towel provision in wash rooms
- Pest control services and advice
- Window cleaning
- Sanitary hygiene provision
- Washroom supplies and replenishment
- Periodic floor maintenance
- Advice and guidance on refurbishments, flooring, soft furnishings and new building requirements
The cleaning service is provided in conjunction with the university specification of procedures and standards, which provide frequencies for cleaning, but flexibility of the service is our aim, so we are happy to discuss individual customer needs and if necessary changes can be made with prior agreement. Most cleaning is carried out first thing in the morning to ensure teaching areas are ready but cleaning staff are available from 7am to 3.30pm.
The service is split into cleaning areas, each covered by a Domestic Supervisor; contact information is available on the departmental web site.
Current cleaning frequencies are as follows:
- Washrooms - Daily
- Common rooms/Tea Rooms - Daily
- Classrooms - Weekly
- Lecture theatres - Weekly
- Laboratories - Weekly
- Corridors/stairs - Weekly
- Offices - Fortnightly
- Waste removal - Alternate days
