Student support

The University provides a comprehensive range of services to support our students. Even before joining the University the Student office provides valuable financial advice about potential sources of financial support and accommodation options

Precourse preparation

Students enrolled on our M.Sc programme will have an individual pastoral tutor for help in addition to the many lecturers and course organisers.

Applicants who are just below the language entry requirements may consider one of the pre-sessional courses offered at the University of Bristol. There is a 10-week course for students with no less than IELTS 5.5 and a 5-week course for students with no less than IELTS 6.0. These courses are designed to develop the academic English language skills needed for higher education study at a British university. These courses are provided by Bristol University’s Language Centre.

Library

The information services provide a comprehensive range of journals available electronically. During the introductory workshops of the M.Sc. you will learn how to access the electronic library resources with a web browser using the authenticated proxy service.

Communication

The University provides extensive email support options including web based email (or if you prefer forwarding to an email address of your choice) and a service to transfer files too large to deliver by email.
