Aimed at academics who have already had success in gaining standard grant funding and who are looking to optimise their chances of winning larger, collaborative (and often multi-disciplinary) grants offered by funders such as Research Councils, EU and Charities. The workshop will cover what funders look for in a good programme grant, what some of the challenges are and at ways to overcome these.
This workshop is open to the Faculties of Science and Engineering only and is aimed at those with experience of writing successful project grant applications.
The trainer, Dr Pamela Johnstone, was originally a researcher herself before managing multi-million research portfolios for large research funders.
Time & Date: 13:00 - 16:30, 06 June 2013
Please register if you would like to attend this Workshop.
Pre-requisites: This workshop is open to those in the Faculties of Science and Engineering only and is aimed at those who have experience in grant writing. There will be a small group session and participants will be asked in advance if they would be willing to share a previous unsuccessful large bid together with referees’ comments. There is no obligation on any individual applicant to do this, but for the session to run at least one such example is essential.
Please note, we offer 3 different levels of workshop. These are delivered in Faculty groupings; Arts & Social Sciences, Science & Engineering and Medical Faculties. Please see the Staff Development website for further information.
