UltraHaptics

The Bristol invention is a novel method of generating haptic feedback through the air using ultrasound. The skin on a human hand can feel the ultrasonic pressure wave generated by carefully calibrated arrays of ultrasonic transducers. The invention enables the formation of 3D shapes of pressure as well as multiple points. Potential applications include integration of haptic feedback with gesture based technology, gaming and mobile devices and appliances
