Research and Enterprise Development

Biography

Sophie is Head of the Research and Enterprise Policy Team in RED.  This team takes responsibility for driving the University’s long term strategic vision for research and for the development of future research, enterprise and impact strategy. It leads the strategic direction, operational planning and programme management of the University’s submissions to national assessments of research and enterprise (e.g. REF2020). It is the University’s expert on research funding mechanisms; government, funding council and other stakeholders’ policies on research and enterprise in Higher Education; and provides expert analyses of research and enterprise performance. Sophie is also responsible for research information systems development and implementation, and for leading the development and production of strategic research management information for the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) and University Research Committee.
