Adaptive Voltage Scaling in FPGAs

The Bristol invention is a method which allows FPGAs to control their own energy and power at run-time. It works in a closed-loop variation-aware configuration and does not require external calibration or safety margins as used in other methods. In the lab the method has demonstrated a reduction in energy and power requirements of more than 80%.
