RED works with University staff and students and with external partners in both industry and the community to support world-class research and enterprise and develop a sustainable portfolio of activities that strengthen and underpin the University's research base.

Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS)

The IAS facilitates visits by distinguished international scholars and encourages interdisciplinary research. The Institute also seeks collaborations with industry and the cultural sector, and creates opportunities for people to exchange and generate new ideas.

Centre for Public Engagement (CPE)

CPE supports and promotes interactions beween the University and the outside world, from attracting people to many free public events run by the University, to helping academics share their work with new audiences.
