1. I have accepted a place via Adjustment, do I need to let the Student Loans Company (SLC) know I will now be studying at the University of Bristol?

If you have previously applied for a tuition fee loan you must inform the Student Loans Company (SLC) of any changes and provide details of the course you are intending to study. Failure to inform the SLC of changes may delay the payment of your tuition fee loan to the University.

EU students are not eligible for a maintenance loan or grant support from the UK government.

Changes in your circumstances (eg course choice, course length) should be made to:

Student Finance Services European Team
PO Box 89
Darlington DL1 9AZ

Telephone +44 (0)141 243 3570, opening hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5.30 pm.

Further information on the tuition fee loan and application process can be found at Directgov.

2. What tuition fee waivers and bursaries are available at the University of Bristol?

University of Bristol tuition fee waivers are available to EU students who meet specific eligibility criteria. However, EU students are not eligible to convert part of their tuition fee waiver into a University of Bristol bursary.

Your entitlement to a tuition fee waiver will only be confirmed once we have received your household income details via the SLC.

EU students who are eligible for a University of Bristol tuition fee waiver must apply to be means tested by the Student Finance Services European Team. Further information on how to do this can be found on our Student Funding Office website, alongside information on the fee waiver eligibility criteria, qualifying household income thresholds and the levels of fee waiver.

Further information and guidance on financial support for EU students can be found on our Student Funding website.

3. I have not yet applied for a tuition fee loan from the SLC - what should I do?

EU students are eligible to apply for a non-means tested tuition fee loan from the SLC's Student Finance Services European Team. If you have not applied for a tuition fee loan and would like to do so, contact the team directly. You should do this now, so your application can be processed and the funds released as early as possible.

4. I am studying a longer course at Bristol, does this affect my funding?

Tuition fee loan funding is provided for the length of the course, plus you are entitled to an additional year of support if required. Provided you have notified the SLC of your new course, your support entitlement should be adjusted to match the length of your new course.
