Research summary

My main field of research is Aegean Bronze Age archaeology, especially Minoan Crete.  My research interests include mainstream archaeological work (eg.archaeological field-work and the study of artefacts, especially ceramics), the history of scholarship, and the reception of the Minoans (i.e. modern responses to the material culture of Minoan Crete). 

I have directed or co-directed archaeological projects both in Crete and Turkey (Knossos, Iasos, Çaltilar, Eceler, and Palaikastro).  I am currently Deputy Director of the excavations at Palaikastro, East Crete (P.I.
