My research focuses primarily on the European Neolithic, but with a strong interest in wider theoretical thinking on architecture, bodies, material cultures and social relationships. I am interested in how we understand the diversity and complexity of societies living when agriculture spread through Europe. 

My doctoral dissertation (Cardiff University, 2008) investigated architectural change throughout the Neolithic of Northern France. More recently I have started to explore how different forms of bioarchaeological data, such as isotopes and organic residues, can help us to capture past lifeways and human biographies.
