Some of the most significant discoveries of the last century are associated with research carried out in Bristol.

We currently enjoy an outstanding international reputation as is evidenced by the excellent outcome of the last two Research Assessment Exercises, which placed Bristol in the nation's top four science faculties.

The faculty hosts three Doctoral Training Centres and is jointly involved in two others.

Courses are run in association with with major industry partners whose workforce in turn benefit from Bristol's exceptional research and training opportunities.
