Mandatory data security training module
The University has created a mandatory data security module and it is expected that all members of staff and research postgraduates will complete this training. It is vitally important that we are all aware of the issues around data security to prevent against breaches of the Data Protection Act and the consequences that such breaches can bring both for individuals and the University.
The module (and other relevant training) can be found via the Information Security website. It should take around 15-20 minutes to complete.
More detailed Data Protection Act training module
This Data Protection training module is not mandatory for all staff and is directed primarily at departmental Data Protection representatives and administration managers, though all staff members (and postgraduate students where relevant) are welcome to take the module.
It should take about 30 minutes to complete.
