Nick Boyce, University Police OfficerHi,
Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Nick Boyce and I work for the Avon and Somerset Constabulary.
I am presently the Community Beat Manager for the University.
I have been a Police Officer for 18 years, before that I spent 10 years travelling the world in the Merchant Navy, I moved up to Bristol from Cornwall when I joined the police.
Since joining the police, I have spent most of my time involved in patrolling the City Centre of Bristol as both a Response Unit and in Community based policing, so there isn’t much that I either haven't seen or dealt with over the years.
I enjoy working with the youth of today, I can relate to the post graduate age group because I have 2 boys of my own of that age.
I have been in post now for 18 months and between myself and the Security staff I believe we have made a big difference to the safety and security of the students.
Over the coming years will be implementing more new initiatives to help improve the safety and security at the University for the future.
