Germanizing Austria – The Introduction of Gottsched Language Norms in 18th Century Imperial Austria

My research is centred on historical sociolinguistics. I'm particularly interested in language policy, language standardisation, and language attitudes. In my PhD thesis, I looked at the invisibilisation of Austrian German in the 18th and early 19th century. Currently, I'm working on the emergence of Scots in legal texts in the Medieval and Early Modern Period.
