University-Wide Language Programme
The University-Wide Language Programme (UWLP), formerly known as Applied Foreign Languages (AFL), offers all students the opportunity to learn a modern language as part of their course.
The units allow you to start at the right level for you - from beginners to advanced.
If you are unsure of your level, you can take a diagnostic test (French, German, Spanish, Italian only)
UWLP courses are available to any student who has "open units" as part of their degree.
Some courses are tailored to the needs of students intending to study abroad as a compulsory part of their degree programme (for example, "Study in Continental Europe").
