Research summary

  • Alan is PI on the ALSPAC Gambling Study, an investigation of the antecedents and consequences of gambling in young people aged 17 to 25 years. The sample used was derived from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children, and  funding for the ALSPAC Gambling Study was supplied by the Responsible Gambling Fund, University of Bristol, and Gamble Aware.

Biography

 Alan Emond is Professor of Child Health in Bristol Medical School at the University of Bristol. He is a part-time research professor, having retired from his main role as Director of the Centre for Child and Adolescent Health and Children's Burns Research Centre in March 2018.  He is a clinical academic paediatrician, experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams, with a track record in quantitative and qualitative research in child and adolescent injury.
