Research summary

 

I am an epidemiologist with particular interests in infectious diseases, modelling and health economics. My doctoral research used infectious disease and economic models to predict the potential impact of introducing a new meningococcal vaccine into the UK schedule. I currently hold an NIHR post-doctoral research fellowship investigating the potential benefit of enhanced or alternative interventions for infectious disease control, focusing on adolescent vaccination and contact tracing.

Biography

After completing her first degree in Biology at the University of Nottingham, Hannah spent three years working as an analyst for the Health Protection Agency South West Regional Epidemiology Unit and the South West Public Health Observatory.  She joined the Department of Social Medicine (now the School of Social and Community Medicine) as a PhD Fellow in 2007, funded by an NIHR Researcher Development Award.  Hannah spent 2 years as a post-doc working on the TARGET study, an NIHR-funded Programme Grant aiming to improve the quality of care given to children presenting to primary care with respiratory tract infections (RTIs).  ...
